On the 16th September, at the London Club of the Rifles, 30 Degrees South will celebrate the fighting prowess of the South African Airborne Soldier with the launch of 'Pathfinder Company' by Graham Gillmore and the release of its second commemorative figure; The Pathfinder. This figure is the second in the series of Commemorative figures and follows on the global success of the RLI Troopie .
On the 16th September, we will be privileged to be joined by serving members of the Parachute Regiment. A number of whom are giving up their valuable time to demonstrate the equipment and weapons of the modern British Army Pathfinders. The Parachute Regiment is currently committed to operations in Afghanistan and as you will well know, has served with distinction in that theatre to date.
A notable number of Parachute Regiment soldiers have been killed in Afghanistan and many wounded. The Afghanistan Trust was formed on 15 March 2007, to help support soldiers and their families who have served with The Parachute Regiment in Afghanistan and who have been wounded or killed as a consequence.
To take part in this auction, email your bid to steve@30degreessouth.co.uk by 23.59 hrs on the 15th September. Those attending the Pathfinder Company event may complete a bid proforma on the night. On the day proforma bids are to be submitted by 20.30 hrs and the winning bid will be announced at 21.00hrs. Bidding starts at £ 125.00.
