This is a smaller version of the 6th Gurkha commemorative piece commissioned by the Regiment after an earthquake destroyed the Mess and the silver within. The only unblemished piece of silver was a soup bowl which they turned upside down, melted down the damaged silver and made the Gurkha who stands on the top (of the bowks base) with elephant heads at the bottom. The main centre piece is held within the Mess.
